However, her happiness is short-lived, and in the end she learns a far more valuable lesson than how to be queen for a day.

The title of the film refers to the old Chinese tradition of burning paper offerings for their deceased loved ones. This short film is a eulogy for this colourful art form that is fast disappearing in Singapore’s modern society.

Eventually the trade is made, Conrad gets the creature.

He meets himself at various ages in this house full of waning grandeur. The disappearance of his love Equiline plays an important role. In the voice-over, he tells the spectator about his motives for this trip to the 'memory of a memory'.
