Tom Tom

In 1981, Tomislav Gotovac carried out an unannounced action of being an artist begging for alms wearing a sign "Alms please! Thank you! Begging Artist" on the Triple Bridge in Ljubljana, which someone recorded from afar on film. The author overlaid the film with Tom's speech about how "the content of films is pure shit" and how it does not specify why some films would remain for the future. He shows this with the example of three films: Air Force (Howard Hawks), Battleship Potemkin (Sergei Eisenstein) and Triumph of the Will (Leni Riefenstahl)

The Little Town That Could

Through interviews with residents, shop owners, and members of the production team, this short documentary captures how Goodwood has balanced the excitement and disruption of sudden fame. From tourists crowding the “Rose Apothecary” to businesses navigating unexpected attention, it’s a story of what is gained - and quietly lost - when a peaceful community becomes a stage for pop culture and nostalgia.

Prophetess

An anonymous friend of filmmaker Océane Buxton notices her striking resemblance to Modeste Niquette, a missing woman he once knew. Modeste claimed recurring encounters with extraterrestrials, documenting them through photography before her unexplained disappearance gave her an almost mythical status. Together, Océane and her anonymous friend reconstruct a portrait of this ghostly figure through a docufiction collage of memories, images, and small-town gossip.

At the height of the rubber boom, the British presence transformed the Amazon. Ports, railways, mansions, and river transport connected Manaus and Belém to the world. Behind this legacy, however, lay a profound human cost. Revisiting this period, the documentary reveals how modernization was sustained through the exploitation and erasure of Indigenous peoples and Black communities, questioning the enduring marks left by this past.

The Arrival of a Train at La Ciotat

A group of people are standing along the platform of a railway station in La Ciotat, waiting for a train. One is seen coming, at some distance, and eventually stops at the platform. Doors of the railway-cars open and attendants help passengers off and on. Popular legend has it that, when this film was shown, the first-night audience fled the café in terror, fearing being run over by the "approaching" train. This legend has since been identified as promotional embellishment, though there is evidence to suggest that people were astounded at the capabilities of the Lumières' cinématographe.
