The Survivor

A powerful and emotional new episode of ESPN E60 will look back 50 years to one of the darkest moments in sports history – the Munich Massacre, when Palestinian terrorists murdered 11 Israeli sportsmen at the 1972 Summer Olympics. E60 will tell the story of one Israeli athlete, now 86, who survived, just as he had survived World War II and the Holocaust when he was a child.

HOT SPOTS: Martin Parr in the American South

Hot Spots: Martin Parr in the American South, a thirty minute documentary short, examines the photography of Magnum's most controversial and prolific member as he gathers images for his first commission by a major American art museum, the High Museum of Art in Atlanta. From the first shot at the Cactus Car Wash to the unusual travel tip offered to Martin at the Atlanta Steeple Chase six months later. Psychobillys, tailgate partiers, roller derby teams, art collectors and gamblers...Martin Parr's energy and x-ray vision burn through the South like a modern day William Hogarth's. The film features interviews with Susan Meiselas, Philip Gefter, John Gossage and Julian Cox. Hot Spots shows us Martin Parr at his most outrageous.

The Prince of Pennsylvania

Back in the 1980s, the road to the Olympics was long and hard for an amateur wrestler. But then along came John du Pont, an eccentric heir to the family fortune with a passion for wrestling. His 800-acre Foxcatcher Farm outside Philadelphia became the hub of the sport, with state-of-the-art training facilities, free accommodations, generous stipends and the support of America’s best freestyle wrestlers, brothers Mark and Dave Schultz. It all seemed too good to be true – and tragically it was, with a savage ending. Featuring fresh testimonials and never-before-seen footage, “The Prince of Pennsylvania” is the story of a paradise lost to the madness of its creator, a man who had the means to buy anything except for the one thing he truly wanted.

“Olive” is a short documentary that follows Olive Hagemeier, an energetic woman, on her daily routine of salvaging, repackaging and redistributing food, and occasional other types of “waste”, across Atlanta, GA. Presented in a quiet observational style, this film is both a character study of a committed and enigmatic volunteer, as well as an ethnographic work that places the audience in the heart of a decentralized, volunteer-run mutual aid network in a “post-COVID” American city.

Atlanta Forest Garden: Four Days of Work

In March 2023, despite a flush of police raids and arrests in the struggle against Cop City in Atlanta, the Weelaunee Food Autonomy Festival gathered people for four days of learning and working in the forest. The observational film follows along as participants in the festival plant hundreds of fig, pawpaw, and persimmon saplings, give away fruit trees to neighbors of the forest, graft edible pears onto invasive trees, learn to mix herbal medicines, and restore an area of forest that had been recently disturbed by illegal demolition work.
