Somethin's Cookin'

Roger Rabbit is given the task of babysitting Baby Herman by Mrs. Herman, or risk "going back to the science lab". From his crib Baby Herman spots a cookie jar on top of the refrigerator, and promptly escapes his crib into the kitchen. Roger tries to stop him as he wanders into danger, but fails. Herman eventually makes it to the top of the refrigerator while Roger has various mishaps, and eventually Roger ends up with the refrigerator landing on his head. Then the director Raoul J. Raoul cuts, and scolds Roger for having birds circle his head instead of stars. Mother leaves Roger in charge of watching Herman. Herman wants a cookie, and nothing Roger does can prevent Herman from getting the cookie. Note: This short film appears at the start of the movie Who Framed Roger Rabbit. It appears on the DVD as a separate viewable short film similar to the other Roger Rabbit shorts.

Jeremy's Tree

Based on a children's picture book of the same name. A Christmas tale about a bird who was raised by tree after it was abandoned. The tree was then cut down for people in the city to use for Christmas celebrations. The bird desperately is trying to find its adoptive tree mother with the help of Jeremy, a penniless orphan, who heard her story so they go and search every tree being used in town. The search in the cold takes a toll on Jeremy until Santa Claus appears, but is it really him?

The Censor

In claymation, the Ontario Censor Board meets to consider an animated short, which begins simply enough, but soon scandalizes the Board with the sexual activities of its two characters: a man and woman meet on a street corner, go to a bedroom, and soon are swinging on a chandelier. A dog joins them somehow, although by now, we see only the Board and its shocked response. The film finished, they must determine their rating: out come darts and a dart board. What rating will the film receive? Will the morals of the people of Ontario be protected?

Among Neighbors

Combining magical realism and evocative hand-drawn animation with revelatory interviews and verité footage, "Among Neighbors" examines the story of a small, rural town where Jews and Polish Catholics lived side by side for centuries before World War II. The film brings the Polish response to the Holocaust to life through the last living eyewitnesses, revealing both love and betrayal as it zeroes in on one of the last living Holocaust survivors from the town, and an aging eyewitness who saw Jews murdered there — not by Nazis, but by her own Polish neighbors.
