Based on the personal experiences of those affected and the conceptual differences between alternative care providers, we would like to highlight possible solutions and provide new impetus for the long-overdue reform of elderly care.

This piece, titled The Century of My Mother, is a family story about the migration from the Dutch East Indies to the Netherlands. It is De Vroedt's way of examining the relationship with his mother and not having to say goodbye to her yet: 'I can let her live on stage, but when the curtain falls, when the play is completely finished, then she is really dead'.

The protagonist embarks on a journey through the "world of dementia," encountering a specific symptom of dementia on each trip. For example, in a village of faceless people, he cannot see the faces of his friends, reflecting the difficulties dementia patients face in recognizing faces, friends, and family members.
