In great detail they pose with their newly achieved wealth in front of their Super-8 camera. Just like postcards, they would send these film rolls to their joint families back in India. Around the same time, an American missionary couple visits the city of Calcutta to shoot a Christian propaganda film. The drastic reality with poverty and famine in the streets of the Indian metropolis fits perfectly into their wicked plan: To promote the faith in Jesus by showing the misery that pagan believers are doomed to suffer from.

The New Gabbers

In "The New Gabbers" we follow three young gabbers in the run-up to hardcore festival Ground Zero in the Netherlands. The documentary paints a picture of the lively hardcore subculture through the personal stories of these 'new gabbers'.

In 2022, when the economic crisis in her native country was at its peak, she decided to visit her family there. She turned her short trip into a collage-like diary in which she reflects on her relationship with her homeland, which is in a state of protracted decay. The film is composed of spontaneous snapshots capturing the author's stay, interspersed with inserted captions serving as personal, often poetically formulated comments and observations. As a result, the film does not hide its strongly subjective perspective, but at the same time builds on it to make an important statement that shows the transformation of Lebanese society in everyday details such as the appearance of the city itself or in the intimate sphere of the author's family life.

The Writing on the Wall

"In this half-hour documentary, Producer Sandra King provides an intimate portrait of a public phenomenon: Graffiti. Over an 18 month period, King and her crew followed the teenage members of a graffiti 'crew,' Vandals on the Street, as they painted and rapped and moved through the streets of downtown Newark. GDR August 31, 1985, Klubhaus in Coswig/Dresden - "Intermedia I - Farbraum/Klangbild"- the event was the first and, as it turned out, the last exhibition by the subculture in East Germany, in which over 40 visual artists and twice as many musicians, performers and super 8 film photographers participated. About 1,200 visitors travelled from all over the GDR to witness a six hour programme on both evenings. It remains unclear to this day how many informers working for the Stasi were among them.
