No Tears

On one of his trips, Wahid, a forty-year-old journalist, meets Sawsan, a young flight attendant. Admiration grows between them, and love grows, but the age difference between them is an obstacle, as she fears repeating the experience of her mother, who married her father, who was twenty years older than her, and then he died. Sawsan falls ill and is admitted to a hospital, and Wahid goes to visit her. The mother is surprised that he is her lover, whom she loved when she was young, and was unable to marry him.

Ashes and Diamonds

A young academy soldier, Maciek Chelmicki, is ordered to shoot the secretary of the KW PPR. A coincidence causes him to kill someone else. Meeting face to face with his victim, he gets a shock. Making a life for himself there, he is flabbergasted to eventually find Sarah Crandall, who also managed to survive. Together, they form a close friendship until the arrival of Benson Thacker who has managed to pilot his small boat into the city's harbor. At this point, tensions rise between the three, particularly between Thacker, who is white, and Burton, who is black.

Viridiana

Viridiana is preparing to start her life as a nun when she is sent, somewhat unwillingly, to visit her aging uncle, Don Jaime. He supports her; but the two have met only once. Jaime thinks Viridiana resembles his dead wife. Viridiana has secretly despised this man all her life and finds her worst fears proven when Jaime grows determined to seduce his pure niece. Viridiana becomes undone as her uncle upends the plans she had made to join the convent.

Is Paris Burning?

Near the end of World War II, General Dietrich von Choltitz receives orders to burn down Paris if it becomes clear the Allies are going to invade, or if he's unable to maintain control of the city. After much contemplation, Choltitz ignores orders, enraging the Germans and giving hope to various resistance factions that the city will be liberated. Choltitz, alongside Swedish diplomat Raoul Nordling, helps a leader organise his forces.

Dr. Sami is subjected to harassment and arrogance from his wife, Munira. One of his patients is the singer Nadia, who visits his clinic for treatment. From here, Dr. Sami feels how gentle Nadia is. Munira tries to find out the reason for this change, but fails to bring him back home, so she begins to spread rumors and scandals about him.

After the death of the girl's father, Berlanti, her means of life become more limited and her mother falls ill, so Berlanti is forced to work as a singer so that she can be treated. The lawyer Sami marries her, and as events unfold, Berlanti sees that she is standing in the way of Sami's success. She sacrifices her reputation so that he can leave her. He believes this and expels her. He marries the girl, Samiha, and as events develop, Berlanti is accused of murder.
