A Polish documentary that explores the early history of Pride marches in Poznań and the struggle for LGBTQ+ equality in Poland. It focuses on the contrast between the city’s 2020s identity as a so-called “Rainbow Capital of Poland” and its much harsher past when marches were rare and fraught with conflict. The film reflects on a first Pride march marked by a small group of around 200 people attempting to advance under heavy police presence, unable to walk more than 100 meters and facing aggressive suppression.

Focusing on movements with roots in the United States, which draw on both religion and psychiatry to justify so-called conversion therapies, an investigation into the devastating consequences of certain practices that seem to successfully avoid any control by European public authorities.

All Out! Dancing in Dulais

Dancing in Dulias was made by members of Lesbians and Gays Support the Miners (LGSM) and Lesbians Against Pit Closures during and immediate after the 1984/85 minders strike. Like the forthcoming movie, Pride, it documents the interactions between lesbians and gay men and the miners and their families in Dulais in South Wales - only this time it's the real thing. As well as some memorable footage that includes the Blaenant Lodge banner leading the 1985 Lesbian and Gay Pride march and LGSM members struggling with bingo at the local community hall, the film documents the wider political impact of this seemingly unlikely alliance. The protests are Hong Kong's biggest challenge to Beijing since its return to China in 1997. If We Burn looks at the movement through the eyes of Hong Kongers whose fates, like their city's future, now hang in the balance.
